I have recently bought a new renault megane with 2 TomTom SD cards (benelux and europe). The benelux SD card works fine but when i insert the Europ SD card it says it can not find any maps. I have inserted the SD card in my PC and through TomTom sw i have update the SD card with the last updates (GPSfix) and re-inserted the SD card but still it is coming back with can not find any maps.

If i look on the SD card i see the europe folder with maps?? Are the SD cards paired with the car ( i think the guy who sold me the car gave me the europe card but maybe it was from another renault). I have tried a few things trying to get the europe card working but to no avail. Any Tips would be handy to get it working. Many thnxs Marc. Do you know how to reset the built-in navigation system in your car after plugging the SD card with Europe map? I did not know i had to do this (and i dont how to do this).
With the benelux SD i just insert it into the SD slot and tomtom picks it up and displays the map. I do follow the process when swaping out the SD cards (through the TomTom menu and eject the SD card so i do not corrupt the card) Support should be able to tell if the SD card is correct. Maps should be associated to a navigation system, i.e. Can't be used in another car. I have noticed that ebay are full of 2nd hand TomTom cards for the renault. I thought the cards where paired to the car but i can not understand why so many people are advertising them. I dont think that the card was still linked with another account because i have registerd it in TomTom home under my account but maybe i am assuming too much in this fact. I have read a few links regarding the 'loopdir' and the removal of this folder form the root of the SD card and reinserting the SD card in the TT carminat unit to regenerate this folder, but this still didnt resolve my issue. One thing i did notice is that when i insert the card in the TT unit it seems to be loading but comes back with the no maps found error, on some sites they are saying that i should be able to reach the TT menu but in mycase i can only eject the card through manualy pushing the eject button (not the right process of ejecting the card) but can not do access anything else ie if i push the menu button it does nothing.
I have also read that the SD cards are a bit sensitive to diff temperature's. I have made a backup of the SD card and am thinking of buying a new 4Gb SD card and restoring the backup to this card (does this sound like a good plan?). I am still scratching my head with this problem, i dont think the card is corrupted because my laptop reads it OK, the TT home software can read the card and has offered a few small updates (which i done) also through the TT software i have sucessfuly made a backup.
