So it cannot be hip-hop. This is RnB/Soul through and through. And it’s fantastic by the way. Check pyramids’ amazing transitions across 10 minutes and tell me it’s bad music. Also, nostalgia ultra was an album, not a mixtape. It was just released for free on the internet.
This doesn’t make it a mixtape. Why, you ask? Well, it is not mixed. It is not over other people’s music (other than the one interlude with radiohead) and it is was put together to be released as an album, but the label didn’t put it out.

After releasing his mixtape in 2011, Ocean began writing new songs with, a producer and songwriter who assisted him with recording the album at in.
